Cross Roads Dance Academy was founded in November 1993, rooted in a vision given to Mrs. Brandy when she was just 16 years old. From a young age, she dreamed of creating a Christian dance studio where girls could grow not only in their love for dance, but also in a wholesome and uplifting environment.
That dream has become a place where students are encouraged to build confidence, character, and community through movement. At Cross Roads, we believe dance is more than technique. It is a way to inspire purpose, discipline, and joy.

Olivia Monnerjahn
Instructor
Olivia has trained at Cross Roads Dance Academy since she was a baby under the guidance of her mother, Mrs. Brandy. She competed with the NOLA Dance Project and later danced on the University of New Orleans Pom Team, where she has also served as co-captain and assistant coach.
With training in ballet, pointe, jazz, and contemporary, Olivia is passionate about helping dancers grow in confidence, discipline, and performance.

Debra, alongside her daughter Brandy, helped bring the vision of Cross Roads Dance Academy to life. She began training at just five years old at Giacobbe’s Academy of Dance, where she spent over a decade studying the discipline and precision of ballet.
Her love for dance continued for more than 20 years as she performed throughout New Orleans in theaters, convention centers, aboard the Steamboat Natchez, and in ballroom competitions in New York.
After giving her life to Christ, Debra’s passion for dance took on a deeper purpose. Together with her daughter, she helped create a Christ-centered environment where young dancers can grow in skill while learning to use dance as a form of praise.

Story
Cross Roads Dance Academy is a family-run studio built on generations of passion and experience. Founded by Mrs. Brandy, the studio continues to grow with the support of her daughter, Olivia, while also being rooted in a legacy of dance passed down through their family, with Mrs. Debra continuing to support and pour into the studio as well.
At Cross Roads, Mrs. Brandy focuses on nurturing and building confidence in younger dancers, creating a strong and encouraging foundation from the very beginning. Olivia works closely with older dancers, helping them refine their technique, performance quality, and confidence as they grow.
Together, they create a supportive and uplifting environment where every dancer feels seen, challenged, and inspired. Whether students are dancing for fun or striving for something more, Cross Roads Dance Academy is committed to helping each dancer grow in both skill and confidence, while also encouraging them to walk in purpose and reflect strong values both inside and outside of the studio.
